Jason M. Stych
Mechatronics Instructor
I grew up in Muscatine, Iowa where I spent a lot of time outdoors with friends and family. Our family would move to Mesa, Arizona for a couple years before moving to Hillsdale, Michigan in my late teens, which is where I live to this very day. Over the years, I would discover a natural skill to repair almost anything and a humbling patience to receive criticism or instruction from others.
Today, I am employed as the Mechatronics instructor for the Hillsdale Area Career Center. With over thirty years of experience in manufacturing, holding positions as Machine Shop Owner, Tool Maker, Maintenance Technician, Fabricator and even general construction. Which has prepared me for this position and for the Mechatronics class as it continues to grow.
The vision I see for the Mechatronics program will add broader classroom experiences that will include advanced automation interacting with highly sophisticated 5-axis cnc machining. To get there will involve industry assistance and guidance cohesively attached to local and state funding. Soon, education will be pushing manufacturing and when that happens, everyone wins.
